CDC to hold forum on Learning about Communication for Rural Development

This afternoon, the UPLB College of Development Communication will conduct a forum titled, "Conversations on learning about Communication for Rural Development," featuring Dr. Sarah Cardey (University of Reading, UK) and Dr. Loes Witteveen (Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands). Both guest speakers will share their experiences and projects on communication for development, particularly on rural communication.

Dr. Cardey, a lecturer on international development at the University of Reading, primarily work on papers and research in development communication and gender in development contexts. Her research topics include monitoring and evaluation of communication interventions in an effort to develop more robust, practice-influenced understandings of development communication theory and communication and change processes in rural extension and communication, among others.

Dr. Loes Wittveen, a senior researcher the Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences and Wageningen University and Research, conduct studies on on communication, participation and social ecological learning. Her recently published papers were on farmer responsibility and researcher learning, enhancing women's participation in agricultural education, and design and development of a digital farmer field school.

The forum on learning about communication for development will start at the 2 PM at the CDC Lecture Room 1.
