CHED declares CDC Center of Excellence in Development Communication
13 December 2012 by KSGCatapang
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has identified the UP Los Banos College of Development Communication (CDC) as Center of Excellence in Development Communication after a thorough deliberation which started in August this year.
CDC Dean, Dr. Ma. Theresa H. Velasco, received the communication from Prof. Ramon R. Tuazon, Chair of the CHED Technical Committee for Communication, on Dec. 12 informing the College of the CHED decision.
The designation is in accordance with the provisions of RA 7722 or the Higher Education Act of 1994 which identifies Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development among educational institutions in the country to serve as "potent catalysts for world-class scholarships, best practices, innovative curriculum, research and extension, and professional development in communication."
"We are truly grateful with this Christmas gift from CHED and the Technical Panel. The CDC is now doubly inspired to pursue excellence in all aspects of development communication education," Dean Velasco said.
