DAP Center for Governance taps CDC Faculty for Training-Workshop on Technical Writing

Last June 6-9, the Development Academy of the Philippines Center for Governance organized "Capability Building on Innovative Leadership for Legislative Staff," wherein aProf. Kabzeel Sheba Catapang, chair of CDC's Department of Development Journalism, was tapped for the communication and technical writing sessions. It was held at the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City.

The training-workshop is part of a series of activities designed to upgrade the technical skills of staffers of the upper and lower houses of the Philippine Congress. Assistant Professor Catapang served as the resource person for the first two sessions, in which she discussed the general principles of communication and technical writing. The third session was on oral presentation, handled by Odette Padilla, a freelance trainer currently serving as consultant at the Philippine House of Representatives.

There were a total 34 participants, all of which are staffers from the following offices: House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Senate Legislative Budget Research and Monitoring Office, Office of Senator Joseph Victor G. Ejercito, and Office of Senator Maria Lourdes Nancy S. Binay.
